Man

My girlfriend and I have already been together for two years. My parents and hers are persuading us to settle down already. She has visited me here once and I’ve been over to her country a few times. My first time was during a romance tour, and I’ve visited her during other trips after that.

The idea of marriage isn’t so bad, but it’s not really my priority right now. I still don’t get why we have a big ceremony to profess our love. We can do it by ourselves without anyone else validating our promises to each other.

I haven’t opened this up to her because I have a feeling that she’s going to get upset and that’s the last thing I want. Honestly, I still don’t want to get tied up. I’m serious about our relationship but the idea of a commitment that big makes me feel suffocated. I don’t think marriage is for me and my girlfriend. We can stay together without marrying each other, right? Any advice is appreciated.
