I once dated a guy for a few months who was all wrong for me and did not treat me with respect at all. I was finally fed up and broke up with him over the phone saying I had met someone new. I hadn't but thought this was the best way for a clean break so I could move on and be ready to meet someone nice. A few weeks later, in the middle of the night he rang the doorbell to my appartment for at least an hour, probably drunk and a booty call for sure. I didn't answer the door because I did not want to see him again. Finally, the new upstairs neighbour came down the stairs and told him to knock it off.

Several months pass and I hear from a friend of a friend of his that he was really upset with me that I sent my new boyfriend to tell him to stop ringing the doorbell. I have to mention that the upstairs neighbour was 20 years older than me and very unattractive. For a while I debated telling him that guy wasn't my boyfriend but then I figured might as well let sleeping dogs lie. I am sure to this day he is wondering what that guy had that he hadn't and hope he treats his girlfriends better because of it.
